Classes During the Week with Adriana Torres

Beginners classes on Tuesday and Thursday from 7 to 8 p.m. in the cultural center La Casa del Faldon. The cost is $300 pesos per month.

Sunday Classes with Adriana Torres

The class for beginners is on sunday from 12 to 1 p.m. before the practica in La Casa del Faldon. There is also an intermediate class after the Practica from 2 till 3 p.m. The cost is $200 pesos a month.

With the help of Conaculta, we are able to offer free practicas in the city of Querétaro every Sunday and Wednesday in the cultural center La Casa del Faldón. La Casa del Faldón has been the center of the tango growth in Querétaro since May 2004. The practicas on Sundays are in the big salón from 1-3 p.m and on Wednesdays they are in the smaller room from 7 to 9 p.m. Both practicas are open to the public and without cost.

First Wednesday from 9 till midnight in the bar "el Huizache"

The Huizache is a Bar on the street "Corregidora" close to the cross street "16 de Septiembre" it's on the other side of the main street Corregidora from "Plaza Corregidora" which has a golden statue and a bunch of other Restaurants. The restaurant is on the second floor and from inside the restaurant there is a wonderful view of Plaza Corregidora across the street on Corregidora and on the other side of the building you can see the plaza "Jardin Zenea" across the street on 16 de Septiembre. <pictures and information>

First Saturday from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. in "el Jardín de Arte"

"El jardin de Arte" seen in the photo above at right is a cultural plaza in the city center and can be found on most tourist maps. The milonga in "el Jardin de Arte" is provided with chairs and audio setup sponsored by el Instituto Queretana de la Cultura y las Artes.  <more information>

El Trío Contempo performed a live concert March 8, 2006 in "el Teatro de la República." We were all very impressed with this french fem trio. (fotos)

Foverver Tango has shown several times in Querétaro, the most recent being the 26th of February, 2006.

Esquina Carlos Gardel toured Queretaro on the 27th of july, 2005. The show is normally presented in Argentina as a dinner show in an ex-hotel.

Adriana studied with Graeme and Jimena beginning in March, 2005. One of a small number of persistent students, the group she was studying with eventually boiled down to about four students at any given time which allowed for more personal attention. Adriana is considered one of the most well rounded students and has a good foundation in both lead and follower tecnique. Alex finished the advanced course la Casa del Faldón with Graeme and Jimena and he has participated en workshops with teachers such as Osvaldo Zotto and Lorena Ermocida, "El Pulpo" y Luisa Paez, Martha Oliveri y Hugo Lomagno and Maja Wallengreen among others. His classes focus on postura, tecnique and musicality. His main goal is to diffuse authentic tango argentino and help his students learn to dance in a social setting.

Graeme and Jimena aren't currently teaching in Queretaro since they moved to Oregon, USA. They were the first teachers to promote tango as a social dance in Queretaro. Graeme and Jimena continue to support the Queretaro tango community by maintaining a mailing list and this web page to coordinate activities in Queretaro.
